Cutting, crowning, and dovetailing a barrel

Hi guys,
I've recently picked up a Diana 34 with a busted front fiber optic sight. I've never much been a fan of that sight so rather than trying to find a replacement, I'm exploring the idea of removing it and modifying the barrel so as to accept the older style steel globe sight as exampled here:
This would require cutting the end of barrel back a few centimeters because it currently has a taper which acts a mounting guide for the fiber optic. The muzzle would then need to be crowned. Those two steps don't seem problematic. However adding the parallel dovetail cuts for the globe sight seems more challenging.
Has anyone attempted this? And if so, what was the method and tools used? Likewise, are they any capable air gun servicing shops that could take on this project? My tool box is limited and though the local gunsmith could be an option for cutting and recrowning, I don't think the dovetail cuts would be within their wheelhouse.

Haven't done it. Yet. But this drawing may give you some ideas on standard dovetails for scope mounts. I would think dovetailing the barrel for the front site would be somewhat more forgiving, as long as you can figure out how to get the site top dead center. Anyone with a milling machine and dovetail cutters could probably do it, which many gunsmiths would have.

I've done two, but since there's no practical way to remove the barrel from the pivot block so that it can be lathe turned, the barrel was just faced straight off in the milling machine and the grooves cut for the sight. I don't think it's worth the trouble.
