The Meopta scopes do look nice, I don't think they're quite what I'm looking for though. I focus more on features, reputation, and quality for value than where it's made. Since I'm already used to Mil scale reticles, and the 2 topping my list are both First focal plane, the equivalent from Meopta is the Optika6, closer to $750 than $450. That's out of my price range, thanks for the advice though.
Bought my two Vortex Diamond Back for their reputation of not breaking.

I looked into the Vortex, it has the features I like, but their mid/lower end models (Diamondback included) have reputation for breaking.I looked at the history of the two still at the top of my list...-The Gen 1 Athlons had a problem with losing Paralax control, but Athlon would replace them fast no questions asked, and the Gen 2s seem to have fixed that.-The Bushnell doesn't have much history of problems that I can find. These two are still neck and neck, it'll probably come down to which I can find cheaper when I decide to actually make the buy.

You're looking for high magnification? 😊 Here's a Scope Specs Table with 80+ scopes that have ▪ a 10y parallax ▪ Side focus ▪ Holdoff reticle (no BDC's) ▪ sticker prices between $200 and $500The specs are all side by side, so you can compare them easily. Incl. warranty, price, reticle thickness, etc. One colum lists if the scope is "springer rated" — and I admit that for quite a few scopes I'm in the dark, just haven't found the info on the webs....
