If you're using a barrel mounted clamp, then closer to the breech vs the front - figure out where it balances the gun in your hand.
One minor problem, on my 1377 using the Buck Rail, the barrel band is just ever so slightly misaligned with the compression tube, making the front sight way off. A pic is worth a thousand words:I'm not sure if my constant hammering of the pin to remove / install caused some issues - I think so. Not sure how to fix. I'm going to try mounting a red dot sight to see if aligning a sight device with where the barrel is pointing, will help. That project is underway now.Turby
Post up a pic when you can!
I like the look of that front band and suppressor.I may have to replace the one on my 1322 since I cracked it on disassembly the other day.
Have you tried contacting Terry at Buck-Rail? He seems interested when dealing with discrepancies with his products.
Where can I get a Red Dot sight that will fit my Phase 2 1322?I hate that stock sight. It won't stay put.
Would I have to remove the spacer between the barrel and tube to make those scope mounts work?
Got somewhat lucky, but not sure. Here is the bolt probe installed:I have a small collection of leftover RC car screws in metric, this particular screw I used here seems to fit ok but isn't quite long enough. I'll see if it'll hold ok. Maybe a small dab of thread locker will help keep it in place, on the threads.I'm also concerned with the precise lockup of the o-ring and the barrel chamber area. If it isn't locking up exactly right, I fear there will be air leaks. Will have to conduct testing.Turby
Really appreciate the dialogue and all the sharing of information - thank you! I will reply to your comments right after sharing this update..Got this reply from needfulthings-2021 on eBay, regarding the longer Crosman 1377 barrels he's got.. Question was, will these barrels work with Phase 1 / Phase 2 1377's? Answer:"Not by chance. By design the rear cocker barrels are not compatible with any other barrels. The breech and the probe and the transfer port and the hammer and the spring are different as well. The barrels for them have not been made for many years."Looks like us Phase 1 / Phase 2 owners are out of luck right now for getting a longer barrel at this point. I'd consider buying a newer 1377 just to get around this, but then that defeats the purpose of me rejuvenating my Phase 2's in the first place, so I don't see myself splurging on a newer model at this point.Edited to add:Quote12"-14" barrel - $35 MellonJust emailed Charles Mellon to see if his barrels work with Phase 1 / Phase 2 1377's. Will advise responses.Turby
