Title: Maccari Stock Re-Finish

Hey Guys,
Purchased a couple of HW50S stocks from Jim Maccari at ARH.  Since the stock was a little too big for my hands (I can't leave well enough alone anyway), I re-finished it using Tru-Oil, Varathane clear, satin oil finish and rubbed out with Mothers Mag Polish.

I'll wait a little bit before staring the other ................. :D

SG,

You mentioned that the stock was a little to big for you.  What did you do to make it fit you?  How do you like it?  Is the cheek weld in the proper place for scope placement?  Is the palm swell to big?

Hey Y,
I've got pretty small hands so I took off quite a bit off the forearm, stock tip and as much as I could off the pistol grip w/o damaging the very nice laser checkering.  I also, sanded/rounded the entire stock butt and Monte Carlo comb as it contained the nicest Walnut figuring. 
The finished stock size is a little bigger than the OEM Minelli stock.

ARH had/has them for $185 under "Today's Special".
He sells them finished very nicely, but mine needed to be shaped a little thinner for my hands.

Nope, didn't change a thing on the stock except shaping/re-finishing.  LOP is about 14".

Guess I should check regularly.  It is the first time I knew he did new stocks in the 4 years that I have been following...
