Thanks guys!!! I am vary happy with how it turned out. I wanted a sporting rifle look for the rifle and I think I pulled it off.
Now what's next???
I did some 50 yard shooting with it and it is looking good...now for winter to get past so I can get some range time with it,

That's fantastic. If all Texans came like that, then I'd already own one.

Wow, your work is most excellent. The stock makes the Texan Super appealing. I’ve been chewing on getting a .257 Texan, but this raises the bar way up there.
I bet you could use your prototype as a pattern to produce in numbers, perhaps in a unfinished product.
Oh this is great!

I can't add to anything that's not already been said...but DAAAAAAAMMMNNN!!!! As a Texan owner it's hands down the coolest piece that I've seen. Maybe that's enough to make Steveoh take the plunge and join the Texan club. I've been prodding him for a while now at our shooting sessions.

Loren you did a "Fine Job" on this project! I am also encouraged that AF finally listened and refrained from taking so much metal away from the rail over the breach. This has been a weak area for years. The pleading from shooters fell on deaf ears forever it seemed.
I think your new stock will make for a fine shooter! Not to mention the pride in ownership in such a fine piece you designed and crafted yourself. Kudo's Sir!!!
