Hi folks , just a few thoughts on the holidays
“THANKSGIVING- make it literal. Say "thank you" to the growers, producers and service industry folks that help you get that feast on your table next thursday. At the supermaket, the farmers market, the gas pump, the coffee shop, the toll booth, the bar,the bakery, the pizza delivery: say "Thank you", be sincere, leave a tip. Don't get flustered about your place in line, dont react when the masses bully and elbow their way towards the last of whatever it is you think is so essential to your plans. Give yourself time. Be human. You'll loose some sleep getting everything perfect for the big day but these are people who make giant sacrifices of their time and energy to provide you goods and services, they are smart, they are real, they are human.“
My wife shared this with me, so I passing it on.

An attitude of gratitude is needed daily. Not always easy but I strive for it. If you have nothing to be grateful for at least be glad it ain't worse like it could be. Someone always has it worse. Happy Thanksgiving!

since it's just the two of us this year and we're in a new location with most of our belongings 1100 miles away, (ie. cooking and roasting pans) we decided to go out to eat. until i failed to call around to see what resaurants are open for dinner. to save my arse, i said i would grill some fillets and make all the food, then the mayor of this fine little town contacted my wife and knowing we are new and alone, invited us to her home for Thanksgiving dinner.
great village with great people!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Things happened at work yesterday that really got the 'crotchety' juices flowing. It's really hard to just turn that off when I get home.. there is no switch. I had to chill and take some time to remember all I have to be grateful for. Fortunately, Betty Lou senses this and gives me the space.
One of those things I am grateful for is the wisdom to appreciate where we are in life. Just coming home to Betty Lou, these 2 dogs and the warmth of home is much better than any 'remedy' I've turned to in the past.
So many things to be thankful for.

Good Reminder Mitch.
This year my holidays are just a little bitter-sweet. Kathy and I are working very hard to remain friends since we both realize that for us we are in different places on the timeline. Over the last several years we have grown apart and I refused to see the changes in our relationship. Kathy the boys and I are going to my brothers for dinner today so we will be with my friends and family at dinner.
I have much to be thankful for and part of that is my brothers and sisters on this forum. To all of you have a blessed and
Happy Thanksgiving
I will be thinking of all that I have to be thankful for Health ,friends and family

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! ( i hear tiny tim voice from mr magoo christmas carol). I know I am thankful for my Sweetie (Thanksgiving is the first time I spoke to her on the phone, so this is sorta our anniversary our 21st).
Thankful I get to spend another year on this earth with her (triple bypass this past June, so good Lord willin and the creek dont rise, should have a few more years). Thankful I can afford the roof over my head, a good safe car, food, health care, airguns! Wish I could see the sights better, but oh well.
And thanks to all who have shared their knowledge and wisdom with me and all here on the forum.
Now we are off to Pittsburgh to meet up with Sweetie's sis and BIL.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
This year is going to be rough having lost my Dad in April and Sam dog last week, but I am thankful for the time I had and all the good things in my life.

Well. I tried a new recipe for stuffing this year.
I added 2 cups of un-popped popcorn to the stuffing as per instructions.
Then following instructions I put the neck to the back of the oven.
I missed the last part that said "When the oven door blows off the Turkey is done."
