The Edge/Striker/1000S and X along with some now defunct Webley branded rifles (Spector and Valuemax, I own both) are all the same rifle with some minor cosmetic differences: Stock, badging, muzzle breaks.Actions on them are all the same and the parts and stocks are all interchangeable. That mentioned, I had an Edge .177 with the gas ram in it long ago bought just to tinker with. 15-16fpe rifle depending on pellet used and plenty of power depending on pests you may want to shootwith it. Mine for the little I shot it before I tore it apart and tinkered was pretty accurate out to the 30 yards I usually shoot. Trigger could use a little polishing but should you decide on the Striker, it'sthe same rifle, just in a different stock. Should you decide to buy one, there's a few here that can walk you through easy and cheap mods to make it better. That trigger was why I joined GTA 6 yearsago actually...lol.Overall, not a bad rifle, but nowhere near as good as the Diana you're also considering from reading a post you made in the German Gate about the 34 EMS.
I've had a few Striker/Edge/ VMX. Still have a .177 gas ram Striker 1000s in a wood stock. All the plastic ones broke at the front stock screw. Trigger is crude. The Crosman Optimus/Vantage better gun , better trigger, better buy. I have two Storms. Basically the same gun. One in a BenjaminT.H. stock, both with GRT triggers and both tac drivers.
Here in the US, we don't have the 80 or 88...lol. After a quick look at the Hatsan Arms site in Turkey, the 80 looks like an earlier version of the 87QE I have. Safeties are the same, different stocks and the 80 doesn't have the QE shrouded barrel. The 88, not a clue although it sort of looks like an early version of the 95 with a synthetic stock and the end of the barrel may?? be threaded for a moderator?? Having never seen let alone shot either of them, maybe someone in one of the European airgun forums can tell you more??The Edge rifles have so-so triggers but they can be made better easily and cheaply enough with a .25 cent screw from the local hardware store and a little polishing The Quattro is better. I know several have had problems with the Hatsan synthetic stocks but so far I'm not one of them. Maybe I just haven't shot it enough...lol. Hatsan is basically the Eurpean version of Crosman here in the US. While not all bad, they can all be made better with a little work, even if it's just cleaning it out and using the right lube in it...then again, that's pretty much every air rifle made regardless of who made it...lol.
The Optimus/Vantage stocks are wood. The Airtact doesn't come with the Quatro trigger.
Like you guys were saying, different gun for different markets. I wish I could get the wood stock for my Hatsan Dominator 200 carbine like they sale in Europe. Krale said they could order me one for $250.
