50 hours or 100 fills (25-27 minutes each). I dont care what color the oil is any longer but I do change it the first time after 1 hour, there was so much metal and rubber that it was badly fouled.

Interesting info.I have three follow-up questions:1. How many total hours has your compressor logged? 103 hours, changed oil in October.2. Which repair(s)/maintenance have you done to it? Changed the oil3. Which specific oil you use? Nuvair 455

I change mine once a year with Chemlube 751.I only put about 10 hours a year on it just filling guns,i use another compressor as well.

I think you have the record for the YH, based in what I have been reading for the last three weeks .Apparently the use of a prime oil is more important that what many users think, imo.

I have a Ford Ranger 2011. I usually used to change the oil every 3,000 miles (about every 3 months), but since I retired I am making 3,000 miles/year and now I change the oil once a year. I have read that engine oil, regular or synthetic, degrades with time, no matter the use, and many experts recommend change it every 6 months at most. For my YH, I paid $116 for a gallon of Seco Lube 800 and would like to know how much I can extend its life without risking the compressor. I know I won't be using the YH very much, so the time passed between oil changes, not the hours running, will be my main concern... I wonder if the same idea above applies to premium grade hpa compressor oil... anyone knows?
