I will say threading 1/8” npt into a semi blind hole such as this takes me 4 different taps, 3 of which have been ground off progressively shorter. This allows me to bury most of the threads. Dave
I’m not going to say your thread engagement is good or bad. I will say threading 1/8” npt into a semi blind hole such as this takes me 4 different taps, 3 of which have been ground off progressively shorter. This allows me to bury most of the threads. Dave

I didn’t mean criticizm at all, I’ll need to work on that, lol. Matter of fact, I have run mine, as yours is pictured, in the past with no issues. I’m just very careful about saying ‘that looks good’. A picture only shows so much. I don’t run ‘bottoming’ taps to get the pipe to bottom, I use them to get more thread engagement. Sealing takes place on the threads. BTW, if you decide to shorten one to try, grind your flutes with a little relief on bottom (like a flat tip drill bit or end mill). I think the burst discs are bsp, not at home to check. Again, not criticizing here, enjoying watching your work and thanks for sharing. Dave
