Getting started and am looking at either a compressor or a large tank to fill from, if you went with a compressor and on a limited(retired) budget which one do you think is good and or how large of a tank?

Faced this same question last year and decided to go with a compressor. My choice was a Xisico compressor from Wes at Airgun Archery Fun in Canada (

). Going into the Christmas shopping this year I have noticed other manufactures with lower pricing and similar configurations. I have been happy with my choice but your mileage could very.

I got the New Warrior version 1 around a year or so ago, use it to fill guns directly, mainly guns that require higher than 3000 psi fills, not a bad little budget compressor either.

Do you have something that you can temporarily give up and keep setting aside the money? This would be a way to extend your compressor budget.
I don’t recommend being as drastic but I quit smoking a little over six months ago with the intention of putting all the money I would have spent on cigarettes in an envelope each week for a year. At the end of a year I will have saved enough to buy an Alkin without having had to change anything financially. I’m going for air independence first and I figure the Alkin is as close as I can get to a “forever” tool so it’s worth it to me.
Otherwise look at buying a yong heng someplace that offers an add on multi year replacement warranty and when it burns out, get it replaced. Repeat as needed.
Even a 68 cubic
inch
4500 psi paintball tank would provide a handful of 3000 psi fills depending on the gun’s reservoir and would get you started at half the price of the 90ish cubic inch units (small Benjamin tank, small Omega, guppy, etc.)
I’d bet you could get running for around $500... yong heng, warranty, small tank, etc.

the only thing I an give up that i already haven't is shooting LOL, quit the other stuff so many years ago that I would hate to guess when it was. I am looking at around the 500 mark to be honest as I do have some stash. I have been checking out the Xisico JTS and the Gx CS2 or CS3.
