subscriber, would you consider the baffle holes in a one-piece snug-fit "monocore" unit to be more or less likely concentric to the shroud's ID, than multiple loose baffle pieces dropped down into the shroud?

A monocore is easier to keep concentric with itself, such that the path is aligned to itself, all the way through. However, that says nothing about the clearance between the monocore OD with the shroud ID; nor concentricity between monocore OD to its own ID. So, "matched quality parts" matters more than the type of construction. When in doubt, increase the central bore diameter. After all, more customers are going to complain, if a given "core" can't be installed in a given shroud ID; than if the assembly is 3 dB louder than expected...
The problem with factory baffles is everyone makes the aperture holes to large to be effective. They do this to accommodate different calibers from .177 to .25 and to avoid baffle strikes.
The Bison Mono Core is self centered and self sealing between ID and OD as it is very nicely fitted both front and rear by O-rings fitted into proper depth grooves for the centering/sealing rings. You should know that they are made for specific makes and model air rifles.
The internal baffle from Geoffk on Ebay helped to quiet my Avenger. It's not as good as an external moderator but every little bit helps.https://www.ebay.com/itm/333688516620?var=542776216170&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
I later switched to a DonnyFL Shogun, directly on the barrel, and surprisingly the improvement was not very significant at all.
My ears can definitely sense the db reduction between something like 100db and 90 db, but not as clearly between 90db and 80db

A 10 dB reduction is a halving of sound pressure, even if it does not sound that much to us.
Based on the articles I linked above, a 10 dB change sounds twice or half as loud. 6 dB is a doubling or halving of sound pressure.
I'll test it subscriber, your idea and the videos does make sense. I'll be doing it using a decibel reader app though and it won't be as accurate as a dedicated decibel reader. I'll try to keep all variables consistent.
