Well I have been working on this little rifle for a couple of days and decided to share. I still have a long way to go but is coming along nicely. The person I bought it from had tried to remove the factory silencer and cut into the end of the barrel. He disclosed this beforehand but since it was part of a package deal including a compressor and three (2 urbans and 2 others) other rifles, I started thinking of how to best use what I was getting. Cutting and recrowning the barrel along with adding an r-10 shroud were first. Still have to cut the breech and the shroud adapter to fit the contour of each other but I'll do that soon. Since I already have a coyote and now three urbans I wanted to do something different than the standard tune and shoot. I have worked on my coyote quite a bit and it now sits in an urban stock sporting a lighter hammer insert and short stiff spring and set to 20 fpe for field target duty. I decided to go for power on this one and ported the transfer port and valve and barrel to get more air flow. With the heavier hammer still riding on factory plastic carrier and shorter spring to kill bounce, I'm still getting a great standard deviation using Rick Morrill slugs. It's currently pushing the 24 grain slugs at 830ish fps and accuracy is great! Efficiency isn't great but I will work on that. I think I can pull a little weight out of the hammer without losing much power. Anyway here it is in its early stages riding on the coyote stock. One of the two in the urban stocks is an urban and the other a coyote. Let me know what you think. Thanks for looking

shot count is dismal at best but I’m hoping to change that. I’m amazed at how accurate this BSA barrel is shooting slugs. I’m going to place an order with NSA and see if more slugs are accurate from it. it would be great to find a hollow point that works around 20 gr. I’m going to get with Jim and see about getting a bottle block fabricated for it or at the very least use a longer coyote air tube to get more air on board. my only complaint with the urbans is the short air tube. once I finish the shroud I will be going for efficiency with power. hoping to get 20 high power shots with a coyote tube or 40+ with a bottle. i have a BSA sportsmen HV (my most accurate rifle) that is currently getting 20 shots averaging 915 fps with 18.1 JSB so i think i can achieve my goal easy enough. i know i can get more power but the terrain i hunt doesn’t allow me to use low shot count guns. gotta find that happy medium. I’ll update as this build progresses. any advice on cutting the shroud or breech to match contours?

someone here has been doing the urban shrouds for a while.. I know its a nightmare to get the ldc off

yeah Lee (vash545?) makes the shrouds for them but i already have this r-10 shroud that is working well. im going to cut it down 3-4 inches to make the rifle a little more compact. i am trying to decide what to do where the shroud meets the breech. im thinking about cutting the breech to match the shroud adapter but that will be way more work than just cutting the back angle of the adapter to match the breech. gamo uses the EXACT same breech that BSA uses on several of their rifles except in reverse. the angle i’m trying to match is on the rear of a BSA and in front on the gamo. really neat how they did it actually but i wish it was flat to make life easier lol. i’ll take a pic of a BSA rifle when i get home later to show the difference. wonder if travis is open to making a lighter larger air tube for the gamo/BSA guns? i think they would sell a bunch.

weird design.. whats the point of the flat?? is it for clearance ?? getting that ldc off the barrel will be the challenge, after that you can see whatever will work.. As for the airtube , the only way to go would be length I assume on the urban , since the diameter still needs to match the valve and front fill assbly.. and theres always a drop block tank assembly if the urban tube has an I.d of .745 ish

very weird. the flat on the shroud adapter is for the magazine retaining pin slide on BSA rifles. the previous owner had already taken a hacksaw to the LDC and cut into the end of the barrel in the process. i cut off the end of the barrel just behind the choke and re crowned. the outside diameter of the air tube is 1.13”. I don’t remember what the i.d. is but i will measure and post next time i open it up. i am going to visit Jim Gaska in the next week or two to see if he will make me a bottle drop down block for more air. fingers crossed
i personally believe that gamo is really overlooked by most because they associate the name with el cheapo break barrels and don’t assume the pcp’s are any better. i own several and they are all well worth their price and more. accurate and well made. what else do you need? well spare parts but we can work on that hopefully.

agreed 100%,.. people automatically think the urban is Chinese..., the tanked urban would be sweet !!
