Members I am in the market for some shooting sticks. Be it self made or from Amazon/eBay for HFT. Any opinions as to what brand, manufacturer, size etc. I will be using either a 3 1/2cal bucket or a milk crate. I would love one to stay under $40-$50. Thanks
Go to your local garden store. By 2 garden support poles, they are usually green and come in various lengths and thicknesses. I am 6 feet tall so I got 6 foot poles. Make sure they are good and stout. My 1st attempt the poles were too flexible. Use the knot found in this vid to connect them. . I have been using mine for years now. Cheap, easy to make and they work great!

Self-made... hard to beat two lengths of rigid small diameter copper pipe, conduit or pvc bolted together at the proper sitting height forming an X.
Didn't Natches just have a sale on Sticks?
I'd prefer the extra stability of a tripod, so I would recommend this one for your price range. I also happen to own this exact one and it is solid, yet compact
Use the knot from the video with two golf club shafts. Light and rigid. You could get pulls from a local golf course pro shop. Tie the knot a about four inches down the grips.
