It has been awhile so I don't remember exactly but, with low rings and around 900 fps if i was zeroing at either 20 or 25 yards it was back on POI at 50 yards
depends on the gun and what I use it for, my Rat guns are set at 15 yards, my squirrel guns are set at 30 yards, my big critter guns are set for 40 yards and the Texan is set for 75 yards, the bigger the critter, the longer the shot...... kinda just how it works out....
I got bored this afternoon and decided to test my Prod from 10yards to 100 ft. It was zeroed at 100ft. I did not like the amount it was high at 25 yards, about 3/4 inch, so I brought it back down to what I think is a 25 yard zero. Target is attached. The top series of targets are 3 shot groups at 10 (left), 15, 20, and 25 yards. The right most center target is 25 yards with my Hawke Vantage 2-7 turned down 8 clicks and right two clicks. It was still a little high. So I turned it down two more clicks and shot the target just to the left of this one. That was low but I decided to just shoot another and got the third from the right in the center. That looked good so I proceeded to redo the 10, 15, and 20 yard targets. That is on the bottom row. I like the results much better for vertical shift with range. The last target on the bottom row was shot at 100 feet. It is low about the same amount the target on the top right is high. But the middle target on the left side was shot last at 25 yards and is low but possibly because my pressure was getting low. Not sure. But the fact that the 20 yard target in the bottom row is nicely centered makes me think I may now be zeroed a little low. But I will leave it for now and check it in a day or two. It's at least pretty close.I think a 33 yard zero is a bit long for my Prod with it's 700-750 fps muzzle velocity. Dropping back to 25 is more consistent with my backyard plinking and hunting and results in less vertical shift from 15 to 25 yards, the ranges most important to me. But my Avenger is capable of higher velocity and I am thinking a 100 foot zero might be good for it.I'm not terribly proud of my group sizes. I wasn't being very careful. But that bottom left 10 yard group is nice. Do you zero at a specific distance for all your air rifles or does it vary based upon their velocity or other factors?
NC Ed, that target says it all. When I saw that I realized that I needed to complete that task. That information is absolutely required to have pinpoint accuracy with an airgun. Hunter
Ed,I like your target a lot. I was trying to do something like that with my little Prod but I only went to 10, 15, 20, 25, and 33 yards because that's all the room I have in the yard. I could do 11,12 etc.. but I didn't. The thing I did not like about my results is that I was about 3/4 inch high at 25 yards. That is a pretty common shooting distance for me in the back yard, much more common than 30. I do not see that sort of fairly large (at least in terms of a squirrels head) variation in your target. I'm hoping my Avenger, with higher velocity, will shoot more like your rifle. If so, I will zero at 33. It seems there is a lot of philosophies about this but most of us are basing our zero on what sort of shooting we do and that makes sense. Jim

For the sake of prosperity, and all.at 50 yards it shoots a little low about 1 mil, not sure for 100 yards, our range is only 75 yards, I have shot it across the open valley which is 350 yards across and a 6 foot hold over is about what's needed to be on target, we're not allowed on that property, it has been taken over by a Developer who wanted to build Mini Mansions on it, but he met to much resistance so it has become a nature preserve.... which is better than a bunch of Yuppies living in the country.......
