Do the thread below look "shallow", as if they have a 90 degree included angle, rather than 60? That would make them easier to print smoothly, and should work well, if the threads are coarse enough. Perhaps I should try it

But my trick on assembly is to use silicone oil on the threads. Then it screws right on.

I do the same thing and I heat the plastic gently to about 140-180f with a lighter before engaging the threads. This also helps to get a good tight fit.
