Mr. Bob Sterne replied to a question regarding a member’s request for a way to ascertain the twist rate of his particular barrel on his air rifle. I was surprised by Mr. Sterne’s response that the rate was too fast for pellets. Not that I question his statement at all. It just didn’t seem to get to the heart of the original poster’s question. Something about a ballistics program? Anyhoo, I have a question for Bob or any one else regarding what empirical problem this causes. Does the excessive spin rate cause the pellet to over stabilize the initial pitch so that the longitudinal axis of the pellet does not follow the arc of the trajectory? Also I feel like I might be lost because I don’t know where to post this question. Mr. Sterne’s response made me think. I just really need help finding information.I tried searching the forum, but I am having difficulty.

OK I think I am now in help section. where is the appropriate place to discuss ballistics internal and external? I know Bob commented in the Benjamin and Crosman airgun section. so I tried to goad him to respond in that same section, but to no avail. I heard you can mention certain people's name three times and they respond. Maybe I should have tried cookies. I really appreciate what Mr. Sterne brings to the table when he does post, he can condense things and bring out the essence as he sees it. I am sure he is a busy man. (my odd sense of humour may not be appreciated
