I am not sure where to post this so here goes looked at a Umarex Elite the other day . The salesman said it was the most powerful umarex. Maybe he meant springer
I shook it and it rattled the whole action rattled in the stock. Really lose. That rattled me and I thought Not for me later I read on the net that it has some fan dangled shock absorber system . I might go back and have another look.l would appreciate comments from anyone who has one both good and bad.
Woops Grammer but you know what I mean .

Hi Hugh.
I have the Umarex Surge Max Elite in 22 cal.
It shoots OK out to 35 yards or so, once you get used to the trigger and find the right hold.
The trigger is a little stiff at around 6 Lbs.
The stock screws are a little on the small side and tend to loosen while shooting.
They require blue Loc Tight or Vibra Tight to keep them snug.
The rifle is fairly quiet but not as quiet as my Crosman Diamondback or Redtail.
The rifle weighs around 6 lbs un-scoped which is nice for a break barrel.
I have shot mine both with a scope and with the open sights and have done OK.
My rifle is not pellet picky. I have been shooting 22 cal Crosman 14.3 gr Hollow Points.
Best Wishes - Tom

Hugh
Here is a picture of my Surge Max Elite.
Is this the rifle that you looked at ?
If the fore mentioned stock screws were loose then it would rattle.
Mine does not rattle but the screws are secured with Lock-tite .

I think Umarex has a few different spring piston rifles with the "Elite" marketing badge. I have a few older models and if they have the jointed cocking link it rattles a lot when shaken. Not a bad thing if everything else is functioning normally.
Edit: All my Umarex/Ruger branded air rifles shoot well. Nothing exceptional and nothing bad. Umarex is only lower on "my" favorite list because I've had less-than-satisfactory service from their parts department.
