I packed mine with painters putty.
Fill it with a drip from a crayon ( I used yellow to see where I dripped to and a match to heat crayon )
I never tried the wax..and its the go to fix….before I got a round head screw from ebay …..I wrapped dental floss around the threads like a washer…it raised the head of the screw…..worked…..good luckhttps://onlinestore.magnumairpower.com/products/custom-breech-screw
All great fixes….just a FYI…the gentleman that sells the gravmag includes star washers that raise the stock breach screw…I have a bunch but yet to use them…….good luck….

He didn't want you to think his Gravmag was malfunctioning, so he included these very thin washers. My kit included 4 but only required 2. Great instructions on line.Cheers!Rich
Just a FYI….the shelf that the spring in the mag sits on blew out on 2 of my .22 tubes….he sent me a replacement…but a fix is dropping 1 or 2 .177 pellets head up down the hole…retains the spring height…good luck
Thanks!
