annoying indeed ... take a short walk to cool off and a solution pop into your head
Well I took the gun apart and gave it two more wraps between the frame and the compression tube, had to trim about .040 off the tube length so it could fit in the housing. The piston starts putting air in the compression chamber much sooner..... and..... and :-(No gain in velocity at all :-(I just left the office to watch the Rams (hope their luck is better than mine today) :-)Don’t call me, I may have a drink or two :-)wll

The Rams win and so do the Patriots ... Should be a great Super Bowel.I'll be back in the office in the AM playing with my problem child 880. If I can't get her going, I may replace the modified compression tube for a new one, and that will be it with this gun !!wll
WilliamWould a turned alum spacer that fits the compression tube, and at the same time butt up to the casting housing work, with the dimension needed, for everything. From your photo's I am not sure what you are attempting to do etc,I know nothing about a 880 etc.If you take a photo showing (separated spacing of the parts) more in this area, would show more of what the problem is, might make a solution appear etc.Tia,Don

The solution would be a new compression tube with a new placement of the air hole. The tube is metric in size (I forget the dimensions) but I think as I remember it is a custom size ? If anyone knows for sure please pass it on.wll
I like the cc mod best too. Gives an almost match grade trigger pull. The difference in accuracy is almost unbelievable with the right pellets after that mod.
