Sheridan BS: How do you adjust the bolt locking cam?

Having a proper locking cam adjusted for the bolt to completely seal the barrel chamber is a crucial step to proper functioning gun, especially with the early guns that have no rubber O-ring on the bolt. I pushed the bolt forward and turned the handle to about 2 o'clock position (max clock wise position is at 3 o'clock), then pushed the cover plate and locking cam forward against the bolt's hex screw, and tighten down the two screw. With this the bolt has a cam to ride -- from 2 to 3 o'clock -- and seal the chamber better than adjusting the locking cam with the bolt handle at its end stop 3 o'clock position. I don't need to turn it to 3 o'clock to seal, but just turn until I feel a slight resistance.
How do you adjust yours?

Also, make sure the hex head of the bolt lug is oriented so a flat side rides against the cam

Thanks, as I learned this last week. I don't have a choice as my bolt has a factory dowel pin locking the said hex screw. It is a 1955 gun I believe.

You could always talk to Tim at Mac-1.
(Just sayin that he's worked on hundreds of them, if not over a thousand through the years)...
But here we are...

Hi Goose,
I have no problem or questions of removing and aligning the hex screw; I just wanted to say that for my 1955 gun, the screw head face is already flat facing the striker because the factory dowel pin.
