The new stock came in. Man they are a super tight fit, anyone ever notice that? Anyway I decided to try one more time with the gel coat. It’s starting to look a lot better than the attempt above. The key I have found is figuring out how to apply thin layers that build up on previous layers without causing thin spots (while rubbing it in) and preventing thick spots that look like splotches. The layers are covering the “plywood” look these cheap stocks have while still enabling the grain to show through. I’ll have some finished pictures before the end of the long weekend.
