Hi from California

Hi, I'm new to the "big boy" air gun world, and I'm looking into possibly going with a RWS 34 in .22. I'm trying to figure out which scope to pair with, so I'm hoping to get some help here with that, and any other basics I need for getting started. I'm looking to use the 34 for target and small varmint inside 25 yards.
I was originally looking at some sub $100 UTG scopes with illuminated mil-dots, and then I found people complaining about thick reticle lines. That got me looking into Hawke Vantage 3/4 scopes, but I've read some say the Hawke Vantage line won't be durable enough for a Diana/RWS 34.
Anyway, hello everyone!
