New Take on an Old Benchrest idea

Hello everyone, new here so what better time to contribute something. I looked around quite a bit but didn’t see anything quite like my design.

I used scrap material, a drill press, and cut off wheel. No welding necessary. You could also thread the rods to screw into the base for more portability.

Base is a 1/2in thick piece of steel, 5 3/4” x 3 in thick.

The all thread is 1/4-20 and the steel cylinders are 1/4”

Welded the top and bottom to reduce twisting. Huge difference.

Wouldn't it be better if both ends of the roller were supported?

Yeah, it would be better. Testing showed you are right.

I just added a piece of round stock to the top of my tri-pod.
