I got the rebuild kit for sealing the gun up in the mail today, this little potlicker ain't nothing to shake a stick at, It's shooting my cast 23 grain pellets at 425fps and I tried some GTO's in it and it's slinging them at 550fps. Heck I think that's better than what a stock 2240 will do. It's fun shooting an airgun that's 50 + years old too and so far I've been having fun tinkering with it. I did clean some of the rust off so it does look a little better. It's been so many years since I've blued a gun, I'm kinda wondering what these deep pits from the rust will look like after bluing because I'd have to take a lot of material off it to get through the rust I did take a couple of pics of it last night to show some people in the chat room.
Nice finds Wayne, and they're fun pistols as you've found out. Wouldn't get too worried about the rust pits, mine was similar. You can see the pits, but it still cleaned up fairly well and makes for a pretty decent looking shooter....IMO.https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=137226.msg1374409#msg1374409I would say "Have fun with it", but that's sort of a given with a 150 lol.Al
