Early in 2000,s I could go in a Wal-Mart & buy a array of different brands of pellets. Not any more, they just do not have squat to chose from.
Oh yes I can buy them on line & pay shipping cost more than the pellets. Any suggestions?

Shipping is 4.99 , or free for a $35 order.
(edit).....at Walmart shipping is free with a $35 order, and a small amount (<$5) on orders of less than $35.

Jim, when I buy 25cal & 20cal pellets I get them from PA or AGD. I try to buy them with some type of discount and I buy several of them. If there are special brands of pellets that I use in 177cal & 22cal, I will add them to the order too. i.e.: when I bought my last batch of 25cal pellets, I bought 3,000 of them. Anything else I try to get locally. That is just what I do and others may have better solutions to this question.
Best Wishes - Tom

Yes bulk buying is the key. But one problem I,m have now, is I,m just now getting (back) into air rifles! As you know there are many
pellets to chose from before finding the right one for a given gun. I know that's just the way it is. But I,m trying to avoid the extra
shipping cost in trying this one & that one as you already know.

None of my guns (i got a lot) are pellet picky at 50 yards (give or take a inch...LOL. )that’s why I buy all Crosman, all the time from PA....that way I have a more harmonious day...good luck...

You can go to the Walmart online site and have them delivered to your local store with NO SHIPPING. Sometimes you can score a deal on eBay.

Easy way to test without buying 12-15+ tins is go to Straight Shooters and get one of their pellets samplers. They have them in .177, .22 and .25 and have something like 18 different types/weights/brands.
Here's the link to the .177's:

I would love it if I could get quality pellets locally but that’s just not the market demographic that Walmart is going for. The best pellets I’ve seen in a Walmart since 2012 are Crosman Premier Hollow Points. At the time, they ranged from above average to excellent. Occasionally got some that would do MoA at 25yds and even a few times at 40+ yds. Unfortunately in the last 3-4 years, I can seldom get them to do better than 3 MoA and most are more like 4-5 MoA. For me, that just saps the enjoyment from shooting. The hassle of getting quality pellets from online vendors is definitely worth it.

Where that be at?

Jim, I don’t know how many tins you purchase for an order, but once I found the pellets my rifles like I get them from PA, buy 4 get one free and if the total is over $150, free shipping, that’s the route I take....free tins and free shipping, big pellet order but save $.

Just looked at the link for straightshooters. The sample packs look like a great idea. The only problem is their shipping is almost the cost of the .177 pack, but I did get the .177 and the .22 pack.

Wish I'd known about them when I first started and was testing pellets or I might not have so many of these...lol

MUCHO PELLETS !
In Vietnam, we used to say , " He who has the most bullets,,, WINS !"

Hey another option is to ask here what type of pellet are people using with your same gun. Then you can narrow your search with those first. This worked for me.

I both love and hate these packs. Love them because of the obvious, hate them because they cost almost $20 to ship.

Have any of you been to a Bass Pro Shop & seen what they have on the shelf. We have one by Tulsa & I might stop in next time I go that way.

Printing a copy of this to post on my stash so the ol lady can see how completely reasonable I am being with about 2/3 of that in the closet.

The biggest selection around here is Wallfart and it's not much of a selection. If you ask about pellets at a gunshop about pellets they'll respond pellets ???

At last count, there were a little over 60,000 in 4 calibers in the stash but I've added a few since that pic...lol
