I also hit mine with my .25 cal. Smashed the bejabbers out of the rear lense. Was able to get replacement from manufacturer for $30.00 and was able to fix. They also sell plexiglass shield to prevent you from shooting the electronics.
Problem is we forget the barrel is almost 2 inches lower than the center of the scope. If most would understand the most accurate reading comes from approx 4 to 6 inches above the sight glass we would kill far less Chrony's. So if you shoot 6 inches above the chrony you are at an almost perfect height for reading your FPS.
