80 yard shot on a chipmunk
«

This evening after work I decided to sit at my favorite perch at the back of my ex-chicken barn. I'm glassing the far woodpile where I've seem chuck activity. After posting about my 70 and 75 yard shots on chucks. I borrowed a friends range finder in order to make sure I wasn't just exaggerating the yardage. Anyway this fellow picket pins on the log which is 80 yards away. I already had the scope set at 80 yard focus and 12X. I put the 4th mil dot on his/her head and the pictures are the proof right through the noggin, DRT. Gamo Urban, 4-12x Mantis scope, JSB 18s. I'm holding on to the rest of my JSB 15s for my Compatto which should arrive tomorrow. The picture with the colored circles show far woodpile from the barn, and my orange hunting cap from the kill site.

Gentlemen, thank you for the replies. Gun was rested and conditions were ideal, I'm amazed at the accuracy of the Urban it continues to impress. I had a chuck stick his head up from behind that log the week before. Did not take the shot because I was not sure of the range. Next chuck won't be so lucky. My Compatto arrived and it is sweet, my scope, rings and bipod arrive tomorrow. I will post up some pics of the new rig by the weekend.
