Apparently his wife brought home 2 kittens before Christmas, but they started messing in the house, so now they are outdoor cats. He said they tried to bring them to a no kill shelter, but were told they wouldn't take them. They still feed them and supposedly, they stay in their garage at night, but are free to roam and terrorize my rats during the day. Any ideas about what I could put out around the feed station that would repel a cat without repelling rats? Just curious how others deal with this sort of thing? Two kittens? Messing in the house? Hmm..are your neighbors using a litter box for the 2 tykes? If it was me? Well, I have 3 inside cats myself so this is going to be kind of a biased answer ... your neighbors don't want the kitties? They're interfering with your rats outside?Adopt the kittens yourself. And, keep them inside your house. Don't let them out. Don't forget the litter box. And toys. And treats. As they get older they will get excited at the sight of you shooting the rats. They'll want to ... um, ... (ahem)...dispose ... of the rat carcasses themselves.I'd say you're about to gain 2 loyal companions if you decide to do that.even with changing the litter box daily, the whole house stunk!

20 years ago the answer would have been a "Hot Lead Injection" but I was zero'ed a tad high so got 3 kittens out of the bad shot placement....
