just got mine, its huge! glock 19 (umarex) for scale.
just asking.... How would 4 fit?two layers?
Yes, it is the oils/cleaning chemicals that interact with the foam. I read this about 12-13 years ago in a firearm forum, and have personally experienced bluing and metal deterioration in older guns that spent years in soft padded cases, and even a springer after just a couple of years in a case. So I no longer store any guns in gun cases, with the exception of my AF Condors. They have been in Plano foam padded hard cases for 12+ years because they have an aluminum frame (never oiled) and the barrel is inside the frame & shroud. I have not noticed any change in the aluminum coating either, probably because I have never oiled them or wiped them on the outside, and the cases were never used with other oiled guns. I bought 52" hard cases exclusively for the Condors.
