3 liter Gurlleu carbon fiber tank
« on: January 02, 2021, 01:58:18 AM »
I've been thinking about getting a small portable tank to take into the field with me to top off my guns while hunting ground squirrels and other high round count activities but couldn't decide what size to get I kept seeing the 3 liter bottles on ebay and amazon but didnt know if they were any good or how many fills I would actually get from one. Well last week I ordered a new gun (FX crown markii sabor tactical in .30 cal)  I know this new gun is going to be a real air eater so decided to pull the trigger on one of these carbon 3 liter tanks. got the tank a few days ago and decided to fill it and my gun and see how many shots I could get before I needed to refill them..

I am shooting an FX crow in .25 cal it has a 480cc bottle that holds 250bar I get 96 shots per fill.

The way I decided to run this test is to shoot full mags and shoot down till the gun falls off the reg. my reg pressure is 140 bar. The crown uses 16 rd mags in .25  so keep that in mind.

started off shot 6 mags then refilled
shot 5 mags refilled
shot 5 mags again refilled
shot 4 mags refilled
4 mags again refill
4 mags again refill
3 mags refill
2 mags refill.

This is where I stopped im sure i could have done a few more mags if I just filled and shot a mag then filled again but that's not something I would plan to do while hunting.

So I got 528 regulated shots!
I'm pretty darn happy with that. The bottle fits in my pack nicely and isnt too heavy at 8lb 3oz including fill hose and valve

I have a small compressor from Amazon GX CS3 I let it run for 20 minutes then cool for 20 then pump for another 20 min and the bottle is almost full. so far I am very happy with this setup!

Valve seems good itís quick so I open it very slowly but itís not hard to control to keep from over filling.

Thank! Iím waiting for my new .30cal FX Crown saber tactical to show up then Iíll really be ready to go. Got a super light rear bag and a Eberlestock light shooting mat in the backpack and Iíll probably throw in a tripod for in the tall grass. And I have my sig kilo rangefinder binoculars..

Looking forward to a fun summer of shooting!
