Title: Get a 4500psi tank filled in Springfield MO
Post by: mobilemail on October 24, 2016, 08:17:34 PM
You can get a proper 4500psi fill for $5.00 at Show-Me scuba (aka Aqua F/X) in Springfield MO. I had to get my carbon tank filled while i am on the road for work and this gentleman took care of me. You may want to give him a call ahead, it's a one-man shop so he has to step out sometimes.  He also has a running contact list that local airgunners use to contact each other and sometimes arrange shoots.

Hello, Mark...

I know this post is nearly a year old... but I just wanted to say thanks for the post, even though I only use hand pumps (Benjamin and a Hill Gen.3) as I have a Xisico XS60(HPA - Not CO2) from Mike Melick and 2 Discos and a .25 Gen2 Mrod in wood, which I have only shot three(3) magazines through since new in 2015 and thinking of selling as I don't like pumping it up... I spend more time pumping it, than shooting and I do not want to go into the expense of a bottle, and all the related gear.. plus the travel time to go to Springfield to get one filled.   I would rather spend all that extra money on (yet) another good quality springer..... or, perhaps even trade my Mrod for a good German or British made "springer".... Hmmmm, now there's an idea..... if you know of anyone who might be interested in such a trade, let me know... but it would have to be a NICE spring gun & preferably in .20, .22 or .25 cal, my Mrod is in El Primo condition, always cased (water proof - "hard" & with dessicant packs for any moisture), and I fully polished out the stock, it's gorgeous.   The case alone is worth $160. and it's scoped... forget which scope, right at this moment though, sorry.

All my guns are scoped and I've got 32(?) so far, so I need to look at the Mrod to remind myself which scope I put on it, lol... I do know that it has exceptionally clear glass on it, Very nice sight picture and "deadly" accurate... But, with the exception of One Nikon 3-9X40(airgun rated) on my Weihrauch HW80, all the rest are UTG/Leapers or Hawks... the majority are UTG's with illuminated mil dots, 3-9X40's to 4-16X44's including a few "swat" scopes.   I have a few dot sights now as well (UTG & CP... the CP's have a much better defined "dot" without the "star" effect that I get in my UTG's)... which I use on my CO2 guns (QB78 Deluxe and 2 QB78's with the new composite AR style stock, a Benji 2260MB and a couple of pistols) and 13xx's & 2240 ("carbines").

I will have to contact the scuba shop in Sprgfld to find out if they still have the "contact list" for air gunners, that you mentioned.    I've looked at the member locations on "ZeeMaps"..but I think there are a lot more than what's showing on the Map... and not all those who are on the ZeeMap... give contact info, not that I blame them, in this day and age... unfortunately.  :(

Have you ever returned for a shoot with those fellows I directed you to, a couple of years ago (already!!) over there, north of I-70 - west of St.Louis?..... trying to remember the name of the town (village/hamlet)?   They have a gun/machine shop and meet (or, met? Still?) on Friday mornings.... usually about a dozen or more guys and gals(sometimes) and the owner's donut mooching malamute, dog ;D.... do you remember?

Are you still planning on attending the shoot at Lobo's at the end of Sept.?   My wife and I are definitely planning on it... would be great to meet you... would your wife come, also?.... or, would you be dropping in while on the road with your work?

I just bought a house with just shy of 2 acres of land (and nothing but open fields, behind us ;)) between I-44 and where Lobo is and W/NW of Sprgfld.  It's about 30/35 minutes from here to I-44, then east about 15 minutes (@ 65mph) to Springfield (west exit/entrance for 160/James River Expressway/Parkway that cuts around the south of the city, over to Hwy 65).... perhaps we could meet up somewhere while on your travels through the area.

Hoods Truck Stop and Restaurant (been there since Nov.22nd,1963 & still family owned - good food) on I-44 is just 2 quick exits (3 miles) east of where we get on I-44 east to go to Springfield... would be easy on & off for you, right there at exit 61 on the west bound or north side of I-44... they also have a nice (re:clean) motel there as well.   I'm sure you probably know where it is, if you run east/west through MO. on I-44 at all, going west from Sprgfld.  Yes?

Anyway... let me know.. would love to meet you sometime,  my wife & I both get a kick out of some of your posts... humerous, as well as you certainly seem dedicated to the sport, as we are as well.... or, at least getting more so.   It just seems that we're not living close to anywhere, where there are dedicated airgun clubs/shoots... they always seem to be four to five hour drives (and further) away from where we are.

There is a weekly shoot on Thursday evenings starting at 6pm in east Tulsa,OK at the local gun club there (powder burner range), and they "allow" the airgunners to hold their 10M shoots indoors there.... actually a very nice set-up and they've been meeting there, for about 15 or 16 years now, from what I've been told.

We went with four others from the (at that time, a year ago in April?) newly formed (and going & Growing strong) NASA group (Northwest Arkansas Spring gun Association) and had a Great time there... Great bunch of guys there... women shoot there as well, but on that particular night... my wife was the only adult woman there, there were a couple of younger girls/kids there also shooting with their dads, but I would say the average age was in the mid/late 50's and if I remember correctly there were about 27 or 28 air gunners there that evening, including us.

It's about 2 hours drive (one way) from where we're living now... I'm thinking of calling one of the founders and organizer of their shoots (Bob), that I have a card/number for... and see about going over for a shoot in the near future, would be fun.

Well, I better get off here.... take care and hope you're having an enjoyable and relaxing weekend, Mark...
