I noticed the Max at my local Walmart yesterday. Looks like the Impact may have been discontinued and replaced by the Impact Max. It appears to have the same trigger as the new version of the Blackhawk.
Thanks Harry, wasn't sure exactly where to post.Well, I picked one up today just to see for myself and noticed the Impact Max to be different from the original Impact and the Yukon. First is the front fiber optic has 5 support loops for the TruGlo instead of 3. Second is that it uses the TNT gas piston instead of ether a spring for the Impact or the ReAxis gas piston of the Yukon. Third is the safety is located in the trigger guard like the Yukon, not behind the compression tube like the Impact ,but, it now is a PUSH FORWARD to release instead of pull back....YEA!!. That's all I have noticed so far and it seams to shoot cphp's just fine during my break in. Cleaned the barrel first thing and it has stopped smoking after 20 shots and has settled down and is pretty tight now @10m after 30 shots with open sights. Did the usual screw tightening after 20. First real negative comment is the trigger, I swear the second stage is a crisp 12# pull, AYKM!, a fix is in store. We will continue and see where this takes us.
GP2004, I'm not totally sure about that, hence the reason for my OP. This Ruger is perplexing. The basic appearance of the action apart from the stock does not represent the B19 platform as I know it from my Crosman NP. I have not disassembled it further as of yet but I'm sure I will do so in due time. The accompanied trigger photos were requested by SagaciousKJB for a look at the design. I do hope that we can come up with a logical conclusion the this dilemma.Any ideas from our knowledgeable members would be much appreciated for sure......
