Bought this off Ebay last month only to find out it was our own Terry than had it for sale: small world! This 160 was the earliest version and had some custom mounts added for a peep sight and we think a scope mount? Terry finished off the Peep by adding the Town & Country sight. That worked perfectly. The mount on the barrel was more of an enigma? Just a block with 2 screws and a tapped hole in the center? Decided to make it into a scout scope mount. Bought a 3/8 dovetail mount made for a Daisy rifle, cut off what I needed and mounted with the existing screws. It work great. Here is a slide show of the rifle when I got it:
Here is a slide show of making the scope mount. These are great rifles I can see why they are such a classic.

Definitely a variant 1 like mine (1955-56). I had to completely restore mine. Refinished everything, even the screws. Upgraded the gas valve twice, now has the A XP-Tuned gas valve in it that is said to add another 70 FPS. That'd bring it up to as much as 730 FPS. And "A" also has assembly kits with more odd little parts along with the seals that are upgraded. Got some scope mounts off Ron Robinson he made and sold himself to mount the Winchester 4x32AO scope.

Mines at 600 fps and that’s fine with me don’t need any more noise. Lol. Watched your UTubes when you serviced your rifle. One good thing about scout scope is easy access to breech for loading

Bottom line the 160 is just a awesome rifle but in the backyard the bark may just be a little too much? Kind of a shame, cause my 180 at its lower power is backyard stealth. But the 160 is just a superior rifle in just about all aspects except noise? 600fps vs 500fps. If only the 160 had a lower power option?
