The damage that you see, and is clearly visible in the picture, is really not there at all. All the talk about bad Crosman barrels is just "internet rumor" Crosman fixed this problem, so what you think is a problem, is really not a problem."all it would take is a simple visual check for Crosman to stop sending their customers damaged barrels" Well Jason, that is assuming that there was actually a problem with the barrels.Obviously, the problem that never actually existed, is finally solved once and for all. All the new barrels shoot 1/4" groups at 50 yards all day long.Steve

After closely studying the pictures, it appears that the barrel was crowned with a Mongolian Crowning Tool. Is that part of the new process? Are the barrels now made in Mongolia? Steve
"there is no evidence that Crosman is putting the new barrels on the maximus"Its a nice little gun Joseph. A lot to like about it, but you have to play the barrel lottery. Look at the first pic. When work like that goes out the door, you're gonna hear about it. Steve
They need to use a floating pilot, not a solid pilot crowning tool.
