I also have an 822 with plastic stock. It is the earlier version which has the screw down rear sight. It also has a brass "clamp down barrel". My particular version was made in the 1970's and has the metal receivers.

Good for you, bringing an oldie back to life. I rather like the custom trigger guard. Looks good. I wish Daisy would bring back the 822 in some form. Wood stocks, metal receiver, metal pump arm and .22 of course. Add the internal improvements of the Winchester 1977 xs for more power. They’ve already used the names ‘22X’, ‘22SG’ and ‘Arkansas Can Opener’ . Maybe ‘22Z’ or ‘Zombie Ripper’?
