Nobody out there knows this ?

The newer all-plastic 760s take the rifled barrel with zero headache. Just take apart the receiver, remove the barrel from the alignment spacer plastic thingie, push the new rifled barrel into the spacer and reassemble... the 760 pumper took the MK-177 barrel ... replaced literally just the barrel, and my 760 is now a tack driver at 15 yards. It worked so well I created a thread specifically about how it went from laughably inaccurate to OMGWOW accurate.. The bonus is that my 760 cost $19.99 on Amazon and my barrel was $10 from Crosman.
What they don't know is that the more modern type plastic receiver guns aren't the same as the metal receiver guns and you can't put this rifled barrel in them.
I see. I wasn't sure which "them" you're referring to:QuoteWhat they don't know is that the more modern type plastic receiver guns aren't the same as the metal receiver guns and you can't put this rifled barrel in them.I agree the information should be stickied. I have a 80's Crosman 760 pumper I'll be taking apart to fix soon. The sights are tack-welded on, and the stock and forearm are brown plastic and separate from the receiver, which is cheap pot-metal (I think). Any information I find I'll add to this thread, and- I have a spare 760 barrel. It's accurate, though not quite as accurate as the one on my 760 (at least not with RWS wadcutters, H&N Excite wadcutters, or Beeman wadcutters. The 760 is a ton of fun... Been thinking about getting another, getting another barrel and cutting it down to make a stubby one. I like them for the 5-shot clips especially. And up until I got my Slavia 634, my 760 was the airgun I shot the most.
The newest style plastic-fantastic that I have shows no signs of breaking down. I shoot it a lot. Almost always use 8 pumps. I keep it well lubed. I seldom shoot bb's just because the inaccurate results. I bet I have CO2 bb pistols that group better. Like my C11 Crosman. The other day I tied pushing the envelope to 17 yards, and was rewarded with one group using Gamo Match wad cutters of 3/4". For this gun and it being a smooth bore, I was quite happy with that. That's benched with a 4x32 AO scope.
I have an older 760-C (OCT.87) that does not require the 5 shot clip. The barrel was shot out---little to no rifling, and the little plastic chamber piece inside was broken on one side. I ordered both the plastic AND the new barrel from Crosman. Perfect!!And, this had welded sights. Now scoped!
Well, I have the variant one 1966-70 760 Powermaster and was told the 761xl rifled barrel will fit. Can't find one separate though. Whole rifles, parted rifles, etc. Mine will be getting the Mac1 seal kit with piston upgrade soon. Want the rifled barrel to add while it's apart. Now if I could just find a good one, let alone one at all...
Try 1977 on. I have a '78 frame, and just received three NOS rifled barrels for late '80s early '90s guns. They fit the old frame perfectly.
I just bought another barrel and the little plastic breech/barrel retainer for a 760B a buddy gave me. It was a junker but thought I could revive it. Got it all together and realized the return spring for the trigger was missing. Didn't like that, and it came to me this is a perfect chance to see if the barrel will fit my old 760 Revelation. It is the hammer drop, and it has the metal chamber/barrel retainer. Wondered if I could use the plastic one with the new barrel in it's place???IT WORKED! I have the little access hole in top of the receiver (you could look down and see the grub screw in the old metal one) but thats covered by scope clamp. When that Revelation came to me, the rifling was almost gone. and the barrel drooped(bent) Thought you'd like to know.
