Title: Looking for fun shooting events in Oregon and/or Southern Washington State
Post by: Cindi on April 03, 2018, 03:08:43 PM
I'm near the Portland Metro area. I don't know of anyone getting together to shoot Airguns. I'm interested in any leads or ideas.

Once the weather cooperates, I think it would be fun to have a Pyramyd Gunslynger style shoot, I purchased the "Backyard Slynger Package", so I have enough Airgun Silhouette Targets for for 1 stage (two people shooting against each other).  See http://www.pyramydaircup.com/competitions/gunslynger/ (http://www.pyramydaircup.com/competitions/gunslynger/) for rules.

I also have some 2" and 3" round plate targets that move when hit.

Welcome..
Have you had a chance to check out the member's map? I've found that most members are more than happy to get together for some shooting and comparing toys. Here's a link to the map. Don't forget to poke your pin in it.

Hi Scott, Thank you. I may try to go down that way in the summer, Given it's a nearly a 5 hour drive each way,  I would need to stay overnight (I'm not as spry as I was 30 years ago...). I'll take a look and see if any weekend events are planned.

Hi  Bill, Thank you. That's a good idea, I have dropped a pin.  I copied the names in the general area and I'll see if any are active on GTA.

I did a member search using location of "Oregon", 5 pages of results!

Hi Bill, I like your positive attitude.

Looks like roughly 30 that have been active in 2018 and 30 active in 2017 in Oregon.
Of the active in 2018, 8 are within 1 hour,  3 more within 2 hours (many folks don't list more than the state)
Haven't sorted through the active in 2017 (,y eyes are tired)

That was a pain, had to look at all the profiles one at a time.  With we had a better search tool (just a whine).

'Nuff for today.

I'm in Eugene. It would be fun to get together with people, but the only place that I know is airgun friendly is in southern Oregon. As it is I usually drive up a logging road and shoot at one of the gravel piles.  If you find somewhere up there let me know.

Hi Frank,
Thank you for responding to this thread.   I don't believe I'm a creep (ugh).

I'm just a big and tall woman that enjoys airguns and find that it is more enjoyable to shoot with someone rather than just by myself. I do have a 50ft setup at home and this summer I would like to setup a Field course and try that out (I have a small number of the drop targets already).

I get my second vaccine shot on Tax Day so I should be good to go in first half of May. I contact you then.

I look forward to it Cindi.  Most times when I have a shooter by, they're new and I spend more time teaching than playing along. :)

I think I'm on the member's map linked above.  I'm near corn pass/baseline, where Brown school is.

Me on FB if anyone still goes there:  facebook.com/frankevoked
