Well, at least for me. To date, with assistance here from multiple members, I've found out that, the Diana 25 pellet gun that my Uncle left me is a vintage gun ('34), and it's a springer. It's all new information for me as I've stated elsewhere. I had no idea what I should be using for pellets so posing the question, I acted on the advice of a member here by purchasing some JSB pellets. I bought the Diablo 8,44 gr. which are 4,55 mm.They arrived a couple of days ago, and yesterday I decided that, it was time to to take it on our maiden voyage. I whipped together a basic cross tree frame to tack a target to, and pounded it into the ground. Here I'd just say that, I wasn't really interested in doing any real type of accuracy/distance shooting with it. I just wanted to see if I was going to end up on paper, or dropping a chipmunk out of a tree to my right or left. What did I learn? THIS sucker is accurate....and works flawlessly, especially for an 88 yr. old gun. Now granted, I measured out 60 ft. This worked for me because, I wasn't near any windows, and I could sit on my porch stairs. I took 10 shots with it. Out of those, I had 7 in the black bulls-eye rings, and three which were more a result of the errant pilot, but hey, I was shooting in a sitting position using my knee as my arm rest.I really wasn't expecting any big shakes, but the results were pretty astounding if you ask me. I only wish I knew how much my Uncle ever used it. Were you to see it, it looks like new, and was kept in a nylon scabbard. Once I have enough posts to include photos, I'll do so.Puts a smile on my face.
Alan,It's so cool that your uncle left this for you. The great depression was at its height in 1934, it must have been difficult to spend money for a non essential item like an airgun.Hunter
