I purchased a CS500 for my HW95.
Much much nicer, and more functional than the factory stock. It is very much like the stock on my AA500.
The biggest thing for me is that the grip is more vertical which makes it easier to reach the trigger.
I also like how the stock is as deep as the trigger guard. Overall very pleased.

Very nice👍 And the wood looks nicely figured. Do they charge extra for picking nicer wood or is it a game of chance?
If I recall there's a hollowed out thumb rest up top for thumbs-up shooting.

There may be an option for nicer wood, but I am fine with standard walnut.
And yes, there is a place for the thumb on the back. The overall design of this is very well thought out.

How do you like the checkering? Did the scope line up well with your line of sight? Order the endcap?
I like Custom Stocks!
Quite affordable relative to full custom...

Yogi the higher comb combined with the deeper stock in the forearm really helps with a scope, especially from the bench. It puts my head an neck in a more vertical position.
If I ever want to put irons on, I would have to use the original stock as the comb is way too high.
I went without the cherry end cap. Not sure why, but too late now.

Thanks Ron, right now it’s 22 with the 12fpe Vortek. That kit pushes Meister 14gr @680 or so. I was surprised to see over 14fpe. Really a sweet shooter at that power level.
I am also convinced that my 22 barrel is more accurate than my 177. So this may stay as a 22 for a while.
Also, there is not enough room for the cocking lever pin, so it had to go back to the factory rivet for now. I may or may not relieve the wood to make room, but that would be sanding 2mm from each side. No hurry for that, if at all.

I wouldn't touch the stock. I'd just use the factory rivet and be done with it. Anytime I touch wood I mess it up. That stock is too nice to risk damaging.

Don't MAKE me get one (or two). I have an earlier R9 and an earlier HW95. Old style stocks that I prefer. I would have to get two stocks. The price ain't bad. I really don't like the beech. Nice stock shape, ugly wood. I would prefer the CS stocks for off hand shooting. I'm familiar with the feel of the CS stocks because they made the stocks for Theoben. I have 2 Siroccos and they fit big ape hands like mine better.
I shot a guy's newer R9 with a Williams peep. The comb is really to high for open sights because I had to really smash my cheek against the stock to get a picture.
My older style stocks are the same way. Comb is too high to comfortably use the irons.
I have a JM stock for my HW50 and it's worlds better than the HW billboard thing.

FWIW-I you tell Custom Stocks that you intend to use peep sights, they will lower the cheek comb by 2 inches, or whatever you want.
Unfortunately, with rifle stocks, one size does not fit all.
Pick one, either set up for a scope or set up for peeps.
