^This is the reason I don’t rate YT all that high as far as efficiency goes. The information contained in these drawn-out 34 minutes would’ve been easily read and digested in 5 minutes of well-written instructions plus some close-up photos. That being said, I would’ve appreciated some tidbits off this clip, when I got my D48 and the manual within didn't even show how the quasi-unique gun is to be cocked, ABT and all.As far as the "problems" Hector hinted at go, these stood out to me:"these are all 100 % made at their factory in Germany" – no they aren't, but in Bulgaria, Italy etc., and only assembled in Germany."you don’t have any barrel droop" – not so - many sidelever Diana owners report substantial barrel droop in these guns."safety’s is NOT resettable" – yes it is....Funny how even a magnum .177 cal sounds mellower than a small stapler going off in this and many other videos, when in reality a brand-new D48 going off will send an alarming sound blast easily 100 yards in all directions (I’ve tested this, as an "onlooker"). A buyer would have no clue as to the noise level expected, having watched this clip. There is also no hint of the seriously violent shot cycle a full-power D48 exhibits right out of the box (and for many hundreds of pellets onwards). I have a hard time believing this "straight-out-of-the box" full-power gun supplied by Diana for testing was actually one. Accuracy testing a straight-out-of-the-box gun is folly, as we all know. At least the tester shot Exacts throughout, and not five Exacts, five H&N’s and 5 Crosmans in a row to determine pellet rankings, as seen many times on YT. I also appreciate the long-term aspect here - a month of use later should be informative.
I have owned several D48's over the years, and yes they are loud! even the .22cals are loud even after tuning, unless you tune 1 down to lower speeds, even then they have a pop to the report! Years ago, they had too much oil in the power plant, the last few 460's I purchased were dry as a popcorn fart, and needed lube before a lot use, but even at that these are powerful and accurate rifles, I like the 48 but the 460 took its place as a better fit for me YMMV
