Has anyone run a portable, GX, or similar, compressor off a battery generator? A friend has a 1600 watt better generator and he wants to bring it the next time we go to the permission. He said it would save gas. We're usually there 6-8 hours and use quite a bit of air. I know we can just try it to see if it works. but I'm curious if anyone has already done this.

Can the battery generator supply enough amps to run your compressor? If I recall correctly, the Nomad II uses about 350 Watts. That's about 30 Amps of 12v. If the battery gen has a built inverter, it's probably not a problem. ! Also, how many kWh does the battery gen have? That will determine your potential run time. This would only apply to the smaller compressors. I don't think that any of the battery gens would handle a larger compressor like a Yong Heng.

Thanks your your reply. The compressor is a GX CS-1. Specs are 250W and 25A. We’re going to bring the generator with us the next time we go and see what happens
