Title: Tuff Decision, what to do?
Post by: mr007s on November 24, 2022, 11:04:13 PM
I been watching the progress of the "Cudas" as they were developed, lost interest as things dragged slowly on then began to think about getting one now that they are actually being shipped to buyers. My problem now is I can purchase a CUDA for 400 bucks and change or  I can spend 2400 bucks more and get an EVOL. If you were me, which would you purchase?

Short answer : BOTH!
Seriously, buy the one you've wanting the most. My thing is, if I really, really want a "toy" and settle for something else, I will end-up buying it in the end but after spending a lot more for stuff I sort of wanted but not as much as "precious".

If the funds are there and not an issue then probably the evol lol. Those guns imo aren't even in the same galaxy. If the cuda will scratch the itch then ... Or buy both and start up a thread on each!

I recently got the itch.  Started looking at budget guns, all of them had drawbacks, and didn't check boxes as far as wants.  I recently got a used FX Wildcat for a bargain and it is a tack driver with CPHP's.  I decided I wanted a Bullpup, forward side lever, regulated, and a slug gun.  (One day I'm going to make a set of dies for swaging my own slugs.)

I looked at FX Impacts and Mavericks, to fiddly and too many barrel options.  I looked at Reximex Throne, not available in the US and no support.  I looked at Kraits, unavailable and untried (lots of problems with their regs apparantly now).

It finally came down to BRK Ghost, and RTI Prophet 2.  I decided on the Prophet 2, and very happy with it.

I may still pick up an AEA Varmint next time, already would have if they came with a side lever.

Good luck in your decision.

Ray, like many have said above, Evol all day every day! LOL! Especially if you can afford it. Like Ken also said above, the RTI Prophet 2's are similar but with more power which is incredible and with their new barrels made to shoot both pellets and slugs.....and a bottle gun (more shots) and probably lighter in weight. The Evol's are essentially a custom built gun and you get what you pay for. Same reason I purchased a RAW, Martin builds each one and tests accuracy (Airforce now does most of the machining for the breeches nowadays).

Haven't followed the Evol but did shoot a Slayer .357 once!
Still have the 4" plate target that We hit at around 350 yards!

I had the same issue. An aircuda max or a lcs19 that came along.  I chose the lcs. I'm hoping in a year or so I can pick up a used aircuda max for 300$ or less and itll have the bugs worked out already for me. I had the money now for the expensive e gun so I went for it. I usually dont spend much over 400$ on guns and am quite happy with them. The lcs is my first high dollar gun and I got a deal on it. Hope whatever you get you're happy with. My life economics made the choice easier for me.

Not a decision. Just an EVOL. Though it’s not a fair comparison.
