Title: Six shot arrow repeater via AEA
Post by: AppalachianAirgunner on September 07, 2022, 05:12:44 PM
Jorg sprave, infamous backyard engineer from Germany, is showcasing a new AEA six shot pump action arrow repeater. 400+fps and broadhead capable.
This is where I love seeing the technology go! It’s a mutated umarex air javelin on steroids! He built a non functioning model onto an FX for the 2017 shot show but this one’s fully functional.
Let the drool commence.

Jorg Sprave is an inspiration to every kid who made his own rubber band slingshot and dreamed of building catapults and crossbows when they grew up. I'm only aware of two models of 2 shot crossbows on the market, the dual bow Excalibur Twin Strike crossbow, and the PCP dual arrow AirSaber Elite rifle. I'm not counting the after-market arrows which can be fired from dual shot air rifles. Any dual shot repeating crossbow or arrow rifle offers an obvious advantage in hunting situations compared to a single shot.

I had an AirSaber for a couple of months and still have a 50fpe Air Javelin Pro. The AirSaber offered 2 shots at ~160fpe so it's a serious hunting tool, but at 7lbs & 41" it's on the large side for someone my age. A smaller repeating 6-shot 140+fpe pump action air crossbow, based on the established compact AEA HP PCP pistol/carbine, would be a much better tool for hunting. And likely to make waves in the air archery market.

A large part of GoGun.co's target market is in Germany where firearms are restricted, so their commercial products are often developed with home defense potential in mind. And this product would suddenly, and for the first time, move air archery into the practical home defense products sector, along with all of AEA's regular semiauto PCP products.

People like me love new airgun technology for its own sake. We'll be waiting in line to try of GoGun's new (in 2023?) 6-shot PCP arrow repeaters as soon as they are released. This development for air archery is somewhat similar to the recent development of 10-shot repeating magazines for break barrel rifles. It suddenly jumped an established product line up to a completely new level of performance.

Slingshot channel is what got me into backyard plinking and pea sting! I’ve got a cold steel cheap shot 130, it’s a lever action crossbow like the one jorg makes but without a magazine. It’s about as strong as the umarex javelin running co2, not HPA.
225fps with 150ish grain arrows. You’re spot on about his products catering to germanys weird laws, but that’s why we have the inner-barrel concept in so many platforms. He popularized the concept and inspired a litany of innovations.
I enjoy the dart gun/blow gun mods he’s done as well. I think a flechette gun running HPA would be really fun to mess with on principle alone, like you were saying about appreciating these devices for their own sake.
