I went shopping for a .22 air rifle today I was disappointed with the offerings.
One that the salesmanshowed me was a Umarex Octane . The first I have seen quite a big rifle but with an odd shaped butt I gave it a shake and it rattled badly The stock was very very lose in the stock. The salesman said they are all like that . I wasn't sure if this is a new fangled floatingactionor just sloppy assembly he said it was the most powerful Umbrella can anyone enlighten meididnt buy it or anything and at that stage I was getting disheartened
Then I went out to the marina and bought a nice little sailing dinghy at a price that I could not walk away from . I still want a new rifle though

My experience with Umarex has been better than Gamo, I like the Air Hawk series, They may rattle a bit but that is what some properly placed grease is for.

I owned an Umarex Octane in .22 cal a few years back and it was a solid rifle that gave me no trouble. Before selling the rifle, I swapped the barrel and converted it to .25 cal and it did fine with that mod. The only reason I sold that rifle was because I was moving into PCPs and lost interest in break barrels.

Get a Crosman Optima. Do the RC roller bearing mod, see it on U Tube, $4, 5 minutes. You'll be happy.
