I have three of the ZR mounts. They do work. I disassemble them and lube the rails with molybdenum disulfide powder so they slide freely. The base mounts on your gun while the scope obviously mounts on the top. When the gun is fired it recoils normally but the scope kind of stays in place due to inertia. When the second recoil happens the base returns to its beginning position under the scope. Thus the scope sees minimal recoil. No stop pin is required though they do include a tiny one. They also have a bit of droop compensation built in. I've never tried the Dampa mount.
Thank goodness we're promoting cheap chicom products. Penny wise Freedom foolish. I hope you like living inside a 15 minute city. Ugh!
For what little this is worth, there are Gen 1 and Gen 2 mounts. The Gen 1's were made in Germany and if not mistaken, what started the "Hectorized" mount tweaksbecause of the slight bit of slop among other minor issues they had.The Gen 2's, production got sent to China, have a Made in China sticker on the bottom and the boxstates New Version on it. I have one but only have a 1000 or so rounds on the rifle it's on so while itseems to work as advertised, at least for me, the jury is still out.Moving them to Chinese production also spawned more than a few knock-offs under different namesyou can find on Amazon for $18-$20. Differences are minor ones but just enough to let them skip pastand copy right infringement issues. I have a couple of those too. 1 for dovetail and one for picatinnyalthough I haven't tried either one yet.

HM said there are now three generations of the ZR mount (bonafide). ... as far as promoting cheap Chicom products... that train left the station years ago. "American made" has been replaced with "American assembled".
