Hey Manny when I am pre baiting before I move in my corral trap I have used a one hundred gallon plastic barrel, commercial soaps come in them. I drill one inch holes all over it then drill a hole on the edge at the top and put a chain through it and chain with a lock to a tree. They will roll it around and the WHOLE corn will dribble out a little at a time. Makes them work hard. I didn't, chain one when I first tried it and found my barrel about three hundred yards away in the bottom of a canyon. Any way just one more thing to try if need be. Take care. Mike
I understand how Mike's idea and the PVC pipe one work, but don't quite follow how Manny's version controls the corn. There's a hole and a skirt, but is there something to keep it from just pouring out into a pile on the ground?
I was going to mention that too Mike but another thing that works great with the hole method is putting heavy tree limb pieces in the hole which makes the hogs work harder on finding the corn where it lasts longer plus that directs their attention to getting the wood out of their way instead of looking for you. A distracted hog is easier to kill.
