After searching this forum, other forums and the Interwebs, it seems that a P15 in .177 is a unicorn. Every single reference/test/review/etc... is to an example in .22 or .25, but they really do seem to make them in .177. I realize that .22 and .25 would be the most popular calibers by far, but the .177 should have at least a few followers. I'm covered for .22 and .25 quite thoroughly and the idea of a lightweight little bullpup in a small caliber would be useful for general putzing around without concerns for too much overpenetration. I have an Evanix RS 3D bullpup in .177, but it's bulky with the moderator on it and its preferred diet of 21gr. Piledrivers like to punch through everything (NOT cool in my urban environment!).
So here I am looking for anyone that has had a chance to shoot one of these in this caliber. I already appreciate the qualities of what they have put together and the pricepoint is better than a Taipan Mutant/Veteran. I realize it may be one of those guns that needs tinkering, but that's part of the fun. I don't need convincing that other calibers are better, I just have an itch for an itty-bitty bore size. Mostly curious about accuracy with the factory tube, feeding from the magazines, or anything particular to the caliber. I'm going to get one and if it's a turkey as a shooter, I can always re-barrel it or change caliber.
If you have one, have shot one, or stood in the same room with one, please chime in.

Mike,
I'm going to watch those right now. I'm a bit ticked off that I never came across his videos, I think the 4.52 in the title must have been the key. You have my sincerest thanks!

Mike,
I now can say, quit looking and buy one. Mine showed up at the house last night and I am very pleased. Construction and finish are very good. I plugged in the probe and it aired up without issue, put three magazines of pellets through it just to check operation and it fed smoothly. No chance to put it on paper for a bit, but mounted a 1" Leupold 3x9 that happens to be focused well enough for close testing. Not the quietest thing, but not too bad considering the baffles have holes over .30 cal. I think a bit of machining time should let me end up with some new ones sized a bit more appropriately. I would love to say I had success running it over the chronograph, but the pellets were playing hard to see and I only had one 10gr. Barracuda clock at 874fps.
AND! Since this is the Interwebs, It doesn't exist if it don't have pictures, so here you are. With an R5M for comparison.

http://air-fectivetuning.co.uk/store/product/artemis-p15-shroud-upgrade-kit
Lots of owners state that the barrel needs a really good clean to get accuracy...Thanks looking forward to hearing your opinion on the gun...

Got another chance to try the chronograph when the light was less intense. Got off a full magazine of 11 shots from a fill of 190bar (spare fill tank getting low). First shot was "hot" at exactly 900fps, the remaining 10 shots went from a low of 871fps, to a high of 877fps. To be specific these were Barracuda Match pellets at 10.6gr. After the 11 shots, the gauge was reading just above 170bar. BTW, the gauge on the gun shows the same reading as the glycerin filled gauge on my fill unit.
I looked at the Air-fective site and they are out of stock for one in .177, but the cost seems reasonable if I wanted to wait. I'll most likely have a go at machining it for myself, I have all of the equipment needed to accomplish it and I even have some aluminum stock to whittle on. It's going to grate on me that I can't do any accuracy testing for a bit, but barring that I got a bad barrel, everything else looks positive. I'll take some time to see what I can clean out of the barrel, but a quick visual shows a smooth finish to the bore with nicely defined rifling. It's not uncommon for the bluing process to leave a nasty film that you can't see with the naked eye. I'm not the type that reviews things, but I will try my best. If there is a question that I can possibly answer, please don't hesitate to ask.

Well, spent over 7 hours at the range on Saturday and ran a few hundred pellets through it. I won't lie, I was too lazy to clean the barrel before I went and... it just didn't seem to care one bit. I wound up feeding it the 10.6gr Barracudas and didn't bother getting preoccupied with trying other pellets. I wound up slapping an inexpensive Swift 4X12 on it just because it had a reasonable amount of magnification and I didn't want to saddle it with one of the other scopes that I have which would be useless under 50yds. As we were on the 150yd range, I wasn't able to paper it at 25yds to get it zeroed, so I sprayed a magazine or three to finally spot a cluster of tiny holes at 50yds and dialed it in. We had a 15mph+ constant wind all day, which varied from 90 degrees to us and occasionally angled about 45 degrees coming towards us. Once I started to fine tune it, the other guy with me gave me a bunch of shoot-n-c targets and I went to town. I proceeded to shoot group after group that would have been lights out on a squirrel's noggin. I shot a group for accuracy while the wind seemed steady, my first shot was a spotter, I then fired 9 shots for center and pulled the 11th round (definitely my fault). I was able to cover that 9 round group with a nickel. I didn't get too specific as to exactly how many shots I fired before getting down to the regulator, because every 6 magazines (66rds) I was topping up the cylinder, just because I wanted to. That gun was a blast to shoot! I had no malfunctions, smooth operation and all I had done to it was to pull it out of the stock to adjust the sear engagement and lessen the trigger return spring adjustment. Nothing was touched other than that. It drew positive comments from everyone that saw it and the weight was definitely a selling point. Guessing by the pressures when I would refill the cylinder, I should have been easily able to get another magazine or two before I reached a point that I was in the 130bar range. I never figured out at what the regulator is set at, since I never got to the drop off point while shooting.
Long story short:
PROS - It's accurate, consistent, functional straight out of the box, priced reasonably and well constructed. (although the cotter pins in the trigger linkage are cheesy, functional, but still cheesy)
NEGATIVE - It will make some much more expensive guns seem less blessed for accuracy, will suffer under the China stigma and the stock could use a bit of shaping for a more natural fit to the hand.
I'll add any other findings or developments as I get chances to sit down at the bench with it.

Well, a funny thing happened. When I bought the P15, I was asked to do a review of my purchasing experience and the product. Turns out they had a drawing for a €50 ($59.00) voucher. I got an email this morning saying I was drawn and here were my winnings!
I did the only sensible thing... I ordered another one in .22
I didn't go with a .25 only because I have 5 other guns in that caliber and I only have my BSA SuperTen in .22cal. and it needs some competition.

Mike,
Sorry about that. I didn't realize that I had not given the credit to who I got them from. Krale-Scheitsport has them very reasonably priced and the shipping is fantastic.
https://www.krale-schietsport.nl/en/artemis-p15.html
My previous order went in late on a Monday night and was on my doorstep Friday. Well packaged and tracked the whole way, so I knew exactly where it was throughout its journey. Cost for shipping it halfway around the world was about $50 and I got spare magazines at the same time. I will gladly deal with them in the future, I was planning on buying another one, but had decided to be sensible and wait. The voucher was a lame excuse to buy it sooner.

I really like my SPA M16 in .22 !!! I've been casting my own boat tails for it from an NOE mold and they're extremely accurate out of it. I doubt I'll put many more JSB's through it anymore because the BT's a so easy to cast and very inexpensive compared to JSB's. It's doing about 38 regulated 43fpe shots like that too which makes it even better yet.
I cast well over a thousand of these yesterday morning, I've got the 5 cavity mold that I got on NOE's 4th of July sale
I recently bought two of the Chinese made DAR's, one is 25cal(love it) and the other is the 177cal. They both needed o rings for the air tube and regulator but they're now holding air good. I did a chrony string with the 177 recently and it's shooting the Benjamin's way too fast, the only heavy pellets I had were some Skenco's and they shoot accurately from it but they seem to be an awfully hard pellet. I've since order some heavies for it, I got the JSB Monsters, H&N Sniper Magnums and Eun Jin's coming tomorrow to try in it. It's the first 177 pcp that I've bought, it's ultra quiet compared to the 25 but sure isn't lacking in the power department, it can be turned up a lot more if I choose to which I just might.
The barrels on all my Chinese pcp's seem to have really great barrels on them, I just wish now that I could get hold of a good 177 mold but don't look real promising. I did see where one guy replied that he was getting really good results with the H&N Piledrivers with his.

Wayne,
I am hoping that I will be as satisfied with the .22 as I have been with the .177. Sounds like you are getting some great success with the M16 and the power is nothing to sneeze at. The SPA guns seem to be making their mark as full featured guns with a price point that provides quite a bit for the money.
Not to derail my own thread, I have a sizing die enroute to size down some 50gr .25 cal bullets that I had bought unsized at .258 and I needed to size them to .251 for a rifle I built in .25ACP. Once I size a few, I may see if they will chamber in any of my .25 air rifles. That could be interesting if they wind up useful for more than one application.
Mark
P.S. As I posted this, I just received a tracking number from UPS, so now the wait begins.

Glad to hear it, I feel like an enabler
. It should be interesting to share notes on our experiences. My biggest limiting factor is getting time to go to the range for any serious testing. I wish I had the freedom to shoot in my backyard. Such is the price for urban living
