Title: Where & How.....?
Post by: PeterL on January 22, 2019, 02:10:59 PM
I’m trying to size some 52g and 55g swaged boattail to .247-.248-.249 in 25cal. How do I go about doing so? This is all new to me as I’ve never casted or sized for a particular barrel before. Thanks.

You need a reloading press....nothing fancy just a simple single stage press.

A great press here.  Nice because it lends it's self to being mounted upside down for sizing (An advanced option...lol)

Then this from NOE

Then select your bushing sizes you want to use for sizing your bullets

Will need the push through punch for the caliber you are sizing

Here is how I set up a RCBS Jr press for downward sizing.  Again not a must, but if your sizing a lot it speeds things up a little.

Loren

Thank you for that info/photo's,

Question for you,
In both photo's (U tube), there is an adapter shown in each photo, top photo,
it is in the 3rd compartment from the the right, and on the bottom photo,
this adapter is mounted in the press, (Bullet pointed Down), right hand photo.

Where do you find this adapter on the NOE site and what is this adapter called?

I have looked for it with no luck.........

I need one for fitting to my Lyman press for sizing the pellets, I want to test.

Thank you,
Don

Sounds like you are looking for the top punch holder.

Thank you,
That is what I want, for the pellet sizer conversion.

I checked all areas on the NOE site, and came up with "O"..............

I got it added to my cart now, LOL.

Thanks,
Don

Peter, I went with this little low cost Lee O frame press. The arm can be change to any location you wint. Not many presses allow this.

I mounted it upside down and it is a dream to size AG bullets with.

I went with the NOE system, which makes different sizes very low cost and quick to change.

As usual, noe workmanship is first rate. Love this system!

I use imperial sizing wax for lube. with this system I can size from .260 to .251 in one step. which is not supposed to be possible. I am getting very-very good results. For longer bullets, I size to .256 and then step down to the .251 or .250 for a given bullet. For the .257, I size to .2575. One step only.  Makes life a little easier.  ;)

Hey Mike...thanks or that bit of info. I’m sizing my .250 down to .249. The NOE store does make life a bit easier a well as on the pockets for sure.
