Good shooting Paul. The wife can't stand it when they used to get into her feeder. There aren't many around anymore. She just can't see the real rats raiding it at night. Going to start thinning them out at night. I don't know if red lights bother them or not...
Great shot on that gray squirrel Paul !!! A few days ago I shot a red squirrel taking off the top of his skull, several minutes after shooting him I found him still breathing however he didn't seem aware that I was picking him up until he latched onto some weeds not letting go, evidently it took out the part of his brain that controlled his voluntary senses still allowing for his involuntary senses to still be working, I squeezed his heart which made him wiggle a lot for probably 15 seconds and that was it.
Thank you Ken! How did it go with the new bait station last night? Any action?
Paul, fantastic shot and video! That was one REALLY TOUGH nutter! It's like you hit it's acrobatuc section of it's brain!
Paul, another excellent shot and video! You have some very athletic nutters in Fl.! LOL! Had a nutter snoozing on our brick wall this morning...gave it a pass, don't know why I did! LOL!
Paul great shooting! You are definitely thinning the herd out. The footage from the TriggerCam is far superior in my opinion. I think it is due to the magnification (also the crosshairs are slightly out of focus on the Eaglevision). I don't know if both scopes were set on the same magnification. From what I'm seeing in my research I think the TriggerCam appears to have a longer (higher magnification) lens than the Eaglevision. Do you know what lens was used to change the GoPro? Just looking through my different scopes and trying to determine which one I might want to use. I've noticed the eye relief varies from 2" to almost 4". Of coarse that's going to be a problem for the camera choosing whether to use an 12mm or 16mm lens. Finally got the lenses, so need to get the lathe cranked up and try making some clamps to put everything together. If only it wasn't 90*+ at 8AM in the morning in the garage. I tried going out today around 9 and :30 I was soaking wet.
Some movements are hard wired to on, like the back legs of some small game. When the brain is shot, the neurotransmitter GABA is no longer inhibiting the instinctual movements. A chicken running with its headcut off is a classic example. Because the critter is with brain dead, those movements are happening. If the critter was with brain alive, they wouldn't be.
It's the 12mm EagleVision lens, Hajimoto had it in stock, EagleVision didn't and it arrived in 2 days from Haji!https://hajimotoproductions.com/index.php/product/gopro-567-black-lens-4k-1-1-8-12mm-m12-x-0-35/?sfw=pass1655208787I guess I need to tweek the focus a bit more, it a slow process because you have to remove the GoPro from the case you adjust the lens, and it only takes a very slight movement to change it. I have no idea what lens the TriggerCam uses, but focusing it it much easier than with the GoPro, you just adjust the focus knob on the top of the unit! I think it's a much nicer set-up that the GoPro, but it won't do 240 farmes per second like the GoPro does! Give and take I guess...
