I have both the silver and black 8" barreled 357. I made a single shot 8" with piece of 2100 barrel as a target pistol and removing the nib on the cylinder so no movement and the barrel comes through the cylinder. Works well but not anymore accurate than the revolver. Dave
Hey guys, I’m not sure if this has come up in the past, but FYI some of the 8” barrels in the 357s were made of brass. Most were steel but some were brass. If memory serves me there is a difference in the friction when lead is shot from a brass barrel. Tomorrow I can take some pics of side by side comparison.
I had one of those when I was a teen, but I'm pretty sure I got it after 1990, like maybe 1991. I don't remember which barrel it came with. maybe the 6" , but I bought the kit with the 8" barrel and a couple of the gray 10 shot cylinders. I think I also had the 4" barrel as well. I shot that gun so so so much. Eventually something broke and I tossed it. what a bummer. I think I have a picture of it somewhere. I got it for my birthday. I really think around 1991. Getting to be a while ago now so details are fuzzy, but I remember filling up those little 6 and 10 shot cylinders so many times and going through so many C02 cylinders.
I prefer the newer grips over the old 357 grips and I don't care for the exposed piercing knob. I have 4 sets of grips for my three newer style frames. One back and the others spray painted flat white, red and brown. The older barrels were usually scratch up and old looking so I painted them flat black. I also don't like the big Crosman Air Guns lettering on the older frames.Thought about sanding the Crosman and Crosman emblem off the grips and the lettering off the barrels and repaint.Wood grips would be nice. I got a set of wood grips for my KWC Model 357. Nice looking and feel but no hole in the bottom to install the co2 cart. Might see if I can carve the hole.
